Delete My Data

Cheap Cars Recovery UK does not require you to create an account to request a recovery, breakdown, or transport quote — we simply collect the details you share with us (name, phone number, vehicle info, and pickup/drop-off location) to arrange your job. This page explains how you can request deletion of that personal data at any time.

How to Request Data Deletion

Option 1 — Email us (recommended)

Send an email from the address or phone number associated with your quote/booking to:

Please use the subject line "Delete My Data" and include:

Your full name
The phone number you used when requesting a quote or booking a recovery
Approximate date of your last job or enquiry (if known)

We may ask you a few questions to verify your identity before processing your request.

Option 2 — Call or text us

You can also request deletion by phone or SMS. Call or text us at:

[insert phone number]

Let us know you'd like your personal data deleted, and confirm your name and the number your enquiry was made under.

What Gets Deleted

Once your request is verified, we delete or anonymise the personal data we hold about you, including:

Your name, phone number, and email address
Pickup, drop-off, and vehicle details submitted with your quote request
SMS quote and booking correspondence tied to your enquiry
Call notes or job records linked to your contact details

What May Be Retained

We may need to retain a limited amount of information for a period after your deletion request where necessary to:

Comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations (e.g. invoices for completed jobs, typically kept for up to 6 years under UK requirements)
Prevent fraud or abuse of our services
Resolve any outstanding disputes, complaints, or insurance claims

Any such data is kept only for as long as legally required and is then deleted or anonymised.

Note: if you have a job currently in progress or a payment still being processed, we may need to complete that job/transaction before deleting your data.

Timing

We aim to process verified deletion requests within 30 days. Some records that we are legally required to retain (see above) may persist for a longer, limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.
